- Rural Policy Division
- This Division shall take charge of the following tasks.
- 1. Management
- a. Preparing? and executing basic business expenses for the Farming Village Policy Bureau
- b. Operating the law on the Korea Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Corporation and on the agricultural land management fund (the regulations on the Korea Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Corporation)
- c. The direction and supervision of the Korea Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Corporation

- e. Preparing business reports and conference materials
- f. General affairs of the Farming Village Policy Bureau and matters which are not covered by other departments
- 2. Planning 1
- a. Enhancing the quality of the life of agricultural and forestry and fishery manpower and operating the secretariat and relevant systems of the local development committee for agricultural, mountain, and fishing villages
- b. Establishing and supervising a basic plan on the enhancement of the quality of the life of agricultural and forestry and fishery manpower and on the local development for agricultural, mountain, and fishing villages
- c. Supervising the establishment and evaluation of enforcement plans against the said basic plan
- d. Supervising the enforcement plans for local governments
- 3. Planning 2
- a. Investigating into the welfare of farmers and? the actual conditions of rural villages and establishing and executing relevant plans
- b. Comprehensively adjusting the plans on the development of rural villages c. Evaluating farming village development plans and achievements

- a. The drawing up and execution of a budget for the Farming Village Policy Bureau

- a. Supervising enforcement guidelines for the businesses of the Farming Village Policy Bureau
- b. Operating the rural villages arrangement law and supervising relevant laws and regulations
- c. The examinations, evaluations, and regulations to be conducted by the Farming Village Policy Bureau
- d. Establishing mid- and long-term plans to improve agricultural production infrastructure
- e. Supervising pilot research projects to develop farming villages
- f. The water resources subcommittee of the Presidential Commission on Sustainable Development
- g. Supervising the support for the water quality improvement team under the Prime Minister
- Rural Development Division
- This Division shall take charge of the following tasks.

- a. Supervising the planning of the affairs related to the promotion of farming villages
- b. Establishing and operating laws and regulations related to the exchanges between cities and farming villages
- c. Fostering the manpower to develop farming villages

- a. Executing the projects to promote the exchanges between cities and farming villages, including a movement to match one company with one village
- b. The allurement of urban capital to invest in rural projects
- c. General affairs of the department
- 3. Tours to farming villages 1
- a. Fostering green farming villages-experiencing towns
- b. Advertizing and marketing for the tour to farming villages
- c. Operating a portal site for the tour to farming villages
- d. Operating the practical council of relevant ministries and agencies to support agricultural, mountain, and fishing villages
- 4. Tours to farming villages 2
- a. Establishing and promoting plans to form and arrange the sceneries of farming villages including the direct payment system to preserve the landscape?
- b. Supervising the development of tourism resources and resorts in farming villages

- a. Planning the development of farming villages
- b. Establishing and promoting plans to comprehensively develop farming villages

- a. Establishing and adjusting plans to expand the foundation of settlements in farming villages

- Rural Society Welfare Division
- This Division shall take charge of the following tasks.
- 1. Planning
- a. Supervising the policies to promote the welfare of farmers and develop their income sources other than agriculture?
- b. Developing the policies to improve the medical conditions of farming villages
- c. Establishing and promoting measures to mitigate the health insurance premiums to be borne by farmers including the support for the premiums
- d. Establishing enforcement plans to promote the welfare of farmers and evaluating the achievements of the plans
- e. The National Human Rights Commission of Korea
- f. Establishing and promoting the policies to ensure the disaster relief mutual aid for farmers
- 2. Welfare
- a. Developing the policies to enhance the welfare of farming villages and stabilize their life
- b. Supporting the stabilization of the life of farmers
- c. Supporting pension insurance premiums of farmers
- d. Establishing and promoting the measures to secure the welfare of aged people living in farming villages
- e. Supporting and fostering old age-friendly agriculture
- 3. Education
- a. Developing the policies to improve the educational conditions of farming villages
- b. Establishing and promoting the measures to mitigate the burdens of farmers, including the support for their school expenses
- c. Taking measures to promote the education and protection of the infants living in farming villages
- d. Managing the contributions made to the Korea Research Foundation
- e. Such educational bodies as the education renovation committee
- 4. Income?
- a. Establishing and promoting a basic plan to increase the income earned from other sources than agriculture
- b. Promoting the project to construct agricultural and industrial complexes
- c. Supporting the activation of the operation of agricultural and industrial complexes

- Farmland & Rural Water Resources Development Division
- This Division shall take charge of the following tasks.
- 1. Management
- a. Supervising the management of agricultural production infrastructure and building site
- b. Establishing and executing plans to manage the national properties to be used for agricultural production infrastructure
- c. The solution of legal disputes and lawsuits arising from the projects to develop water sources for farming villages and form agricultural land
- d. Establishing and promoting plans to get a license to reclaim, transfer, or acquire public waters
- e. The management and disposal of the properties created through the formation of the agricultural land
- 2. Water for farming villages
- a. Supervising and adjusting the technological businesses the establish the foundation of agricultural production?
- b. Establishing and promoting a basic plan and enforcement plans for middle- and large-scale water development projects
- c. Examining, analyzing and evaluating middle- and large-scale water development projects
- d. Supervising the overseas cooperation connected to the arrangement of farming villages

- This Division shall take charge of the following tasks.

- a. Supervising the management of agricultural production foundational facilities and controling the operation of the building site
- b. Establishing and executing plans to manage the national properties to be used for agricultural production foundational facilities
- c. Promoting the projects to maintain irrigational facilities
- d. Setting up the irrigation department belonging to local governments and executing maintenance businesses
- e. Repaying the bonds of the Korea Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Corporation
- 2. Irrigational facilities
- a. Managing the safety of agricultural production foundational facilities
- b. Establishing and promoting the plans to repair and mend irrigational facilities?
- c. Promoting the projects to reinforce irrigational facilities in preparation against disasters
- d. Establishing and promoting plans to dredge reservoirs
- e. Establishing and promoting the plans for agricultural water management automation projects (TM/TC)

- d. General affairs in the auditing chief's room
- 2. The prevention of corruption
- a. Establishing, promoting and supervising plans to intensify the discipline of public offices and prevent corruption
- b. Inspecting the discipline of affiliated organizations and bodies
- c. Headquarters auditing and daily auditing
- d. Investigating and treating petitions and irregularities including those presented by other ministries and agencies
- e. The registration and examination of the properties of public officials, reports on gifts and limits to employment

- a. Integrating the materials to be audited by the Board of Audit and Inspection and doing liaison businesses
- b. Supervising the work of the auditing information comprehensive system
